Recent events have delayed my Valentine's Day posting. Between parties and soccer practice and our regular after school activities, the week leading up to Valentine's Day was very busy. As a family, on Feb.14, we visited a nearby observatory for an evening of star gazing. The photos below are just a collection from the boys' various events. Gavin was also Wildcat of the Week, which meant a series of activities and special projects for him.
Hi, we're The Morrisons. I've been using this blog to keep in touch with my family and friends ever since leaving our native Texas in 2007 for the mountains of Southern Appalachia. In 2012 we moved back to Texas, because that's what Texans tend to do. Thanks for visiting our blog. We like to hear from you, so leave a kind comment or two!

Wildcat of the Week!
Gavin was so excited when I picked him up from school yesterday. He was chosen as one of the 1st Grade Wildcats of the Week. Every week 1-3 students from each grade are chosen. It's a distinction based on school work and good behavior and announced over the school intercom during Monday morning announcements. A poster will be displayed on the front of his classroom door, he is interviewed about all his favorite things, he gets to bring his favorite book and toy for show-and-tell (and reading), and on Friday his parents are invited to eat lunch with him. Friday is also his classroom Valentine's Day Party, so he's got a fun-filled week. Soccer also starts today. He couldn't be happier.

Brackenridge Park With Papa Don
Now that my dad is retired, he is able to tag along on our little adventures in SA. It's been a real treat and a treasure to be able to capture some of our time together. If they're anything like I am when it comes to looking back at old family photos, I think Gavin and Sawyer will appreciate having these memories documented.
Gavin's Photography
This past weekend during a visit to San Antonio Gavin asked if he could take pictures with his new (used) digital camera. A gift from Nana, whose friend was just going to throw it away. It's a perfect first real camera for Gavin, but it needs a memory card and doesn't hold very many images right now. During our outing on Monday and while we were at my parents' house, I let him practice using my Nikon. His first time with "Mom's big camera". These are my favorite unedited GMM images.
