God has a way of bringing the most important aspects of one's life into focus when the world starts spinning a little too fast. This afternoon G and I took a trip downtown to renew my truck's vehicle registration. Well, as I was getting him out of the car seat and into the carrier I inadvertently locked my keys in the truck along with the diaper bag.
I had to call Casey, who works 45 minutes away, to come let me in the truck. In the meantime G and I popped a squat in a nearby park. All we had was each other. So we walked around the trail, looked at the ducks and then laid down in the grass. I knew he would get hungry soon and indeed he did. I had to breastfeed in public, without my cover-up or a blanket against a tree! But it all worked out and it was very peaceful and calming.
Even though we had a good time hanging out in the shade we sure were glad to see Casey pull up.
