This past weekend we took Gavin on his first TX camping trip. We were invited by our friends who have a son close to Gavin's age. McKinney Falls State Park was the perfect place for an inaugural Texas family camping adventure. The mild winter temps and blue skies made for a beautiful backdrop and lovely experience. The park was close to the city, but felt like we were further out of town than we actually were. Being that we didn't have to spend hours in the car we were able to start our camping trip Saturday afternoon with minimal planning. It was just enough time to set up camp, take a long hike, cook campfire hotdogs and smores, and have coffee in the morning before heading back. We still had plenty of time to come home and do our chores! It was a great first trip and we are looking forward to venturing westward.
Hi, we're The Morrisons. I've been using this blog to keep in touch with my family and friends ever since leaving our native Texas in 2007 for the mountains of Southern Appalachia. In 2012 we moved back to Texas, because that's what Texans tend to do. Thanks for visiting our blog. We like to hear from you, so leave a kind comment or two!

So much has happened during the month of January that I am not even going to try and attempt to write a catch-up blog. Its been a fantastic whirlwind. I feel like we are finally catching our breath.
