A Year of Sawyer Dean

This was Sawyer on his first birthday. Twelve whole months of this tiny bundle of energy and fun.  Sawyer loves bananas. Bananas are his most favorite food. He could eat an entire bunch a day, if I let him. He eats almost anything we put in front of him, but he'll look up at the fruit basket and point and scream for his bananas.

He 'talks' alot. All baby words that we don't really understand, but we can tell by the inflections in his voice that he is speaking and trying very hard to communicate with us.

He is the best mess maker. He loves to get into the art supplies and scatter them all over the floor. He loves to climb. He will move 'stepping stones' over to his kid table and climb on top of the table. He also climbs onto the couch and the hearth and just about anything that is higher than ground level.

He enjoys playing ball and chase with his big brother. It brings us much joy to see our two boys bond and play, despite their age difference. These two are going to be mischevious. A close eye will be required to keep them in line I think, especially when Gavin is 21 years old and Sawyer is 16.

Sawyer has seven teeth. At his 12-month well check he weighed 21 lbs and measured 29". He's filled out quite a bit from his first few months. He walks and can identify his immediate family members in pictures. He can also identify dogs in his animal books. He can follow simple instructions and understands how to use writing utensils, though his fine motor skills aren't fully developed.

He likes his Charlie Harper Counting and Pajama Time board books.

We started weaning at 12-months old. We nurse about once a day every other day and never near sleep time. He has recently began sleeping through the night, though he wakes up for a few minutes once a night and then puts himself back to sleep.

He loves to open and close doors and is very curious. He loves the gardens and being outside. He's been a fantastic addition to our family. We love him very much.
