Moving: Part One

It's been a busy few weeks getting everything in order to buy the house. We are working hard hoping to close a few days earlier than the original projected close day, Aug.18. Currently, the projected timeline only gives us three days to paint the interior and a day and a half to move in, before Gavin's first day of school on Aug.24. It's going to be a whirlwind. We'll be working on both houses, moving into one and moving out of another through the end of the month.

September will be a huge relief!

This past week we've had our niece and cousin Bristol staying with us. She is an impressive young lady and we loved our quality time. She has been a tremendous amount of help and a positive influence on our young Gavin. She has been such a good sport just jumping right into our moving business. On Wednesday I took all three kids to Leander to enroll Gavin in his new school.

First we drove to the new school, which was closed for lunch. Then we drove to our new house, guessing which way Gavin may be walking or riding his bike to school in the very near future. We parked in the driveway of the new house and walked around outside in the yard. Both kids were excited to be there and Sawyer was just happy to be in the presence of the big kids doing big kid things.

We decided to eat lunch in the nearby community playground and pool are. We sat under a tree at a picnic table, ate lunch, and then all three kids played on the playscape. A mother and three young children rode by us on bikes and said "hello". After we returned to the school an enrolled I treated the kids to some shaved ice at Bahama Bucks. Yum!

After Bristol left we found out we would be able to close a few days early. Hooray!

Now the real work begins!
