Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls

Gavin's first grade field trip was at Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls. Sawyer and I tagged along. It was a hot day, the boys enjoyed their experience. I did not get to pick as many blackberries as I had hoped. The bushes are thorny and two hands are required for efficiency. This was hard to do while managing Sawyer and keeping him out of thorns. So we settled for whatever we could eat while on the farm. I'm hoping to find some local berries at a summer farmers' market or I'll just get them from HEB.

Yesterday Gavin asked me when he will be 7.5. His half birthday falls on Papa Don's birthday, Sept.6. I'm thinking a new tradition of blackberry cobbler Gavin's half birthday is appropriate. A new way to celebrate Gavin and his Papa Don at the same time.
