Nana Cathy and Papa Rod

I cannot even begin to really articulate how much I cherish the time I spend and that my children spend with their my mom and inlaws. It's one of those surprise gifts that come from the immense sadness that follows after losing a loved one. I understand that my time with anyone I care about is precious and limited. I understand this in a way I did not before my father died. I did not take as many pictures of the visit with Casey's parents, because I tried to be in the moment and stay present. Suck up all that quality time and etch those memories into my psyche. I did snap a couple that I'm proud of. Gavin playing chess with his Papa Rod and Sawyer playing animals with his Nana Cathy. Papa Rod called these photos "bookends in time". He always has a creative and thoughtful way with words.
