Big Bend for Winter Break

Our school district has a winter break at the beginning of February. Many families use this time to take a vacation. We planned ahead and drove out to Big Bend. I hope we can return several times over the next few years and visit during the spring and fall. Winter was enjoyable but there wasn't as much color in the landscape as there is in the spring and fall seasons. We camped in the Chisos Basin, hiking the Window Trail on the first full day and then we drove down to the US/Mexico border and hiked the Santa Elena Canyon river trail. I have alot more pictures, but figured if I'm going to make a go at keeping up with my blog I should post what I have so far instead of waiting to finish going through all the pics and then never posting!
