A great weekend

For Halloween Casey and I went to a haunted hayride family-oriented Halloween Party. Casey was recruited to scare people on the hayride. There were two hay rides. One for trick or treating only and then one for "getting scared" after trick or treating. The people who hosted the party did a great job and we had a lot of fun. I wore my standard witches hat and bundled up for the cool air. Afterwards we went over to a friend's house and practiced being parents with their baby.

Saturday we went to BBQ hosted by a coworker of mine. She lives on 7 acres and owns six horses! I had so much fun with those horses. They are such amazing animals. I have added owning a horse to my list of things to do before I die. We left after a couple of hourse so we could make it home in time for the most exciting college football game EVER!!

I have never been more homesick for Lubbock than I was on Saturday night. I had so much fun watching the nailbiter of game between #7 Texas Tech and #1 University of Texas. TTU hasn't been ranked since 1976 and here we are going undefeated. I was literally jumping up and down in my living room as our guys made the winning touchdown with one second remaining. Wow! And now we are ranked #2 in the nation!!! That makes us contenders for the National Championship. We just ahve to see how Penn State does this weekend and make sure we win all three of our next games. What fun the Red Raiders in Lubbock must be having this year.

With election day less than 24 hours away I just don't know how much more excitment I can take.

I want you to know, I was rooting for Tech to win - much to the demise of my FIL. Next weekend Texas play Baylor. I wonder if we have a chance? Anyhow, Woo-hoo Tech won!!!

Sounds like you have a fantastic weekend!

And yes, it's 9:15 pm CST and I'm too frickin' excited about the Election to get to bed. Sad ain't it?

What a game!! I couldn't help but root for Tech. If you come to Austin, I'll let you practice being parents with my big baby.
