1. Infection tapering off, his blood cultures have come back negative for bacteria growth but officially there is still one more day they have to watch for growth before the lab can submit a report saying the test is negative.
2. He is down to one antibiotic instead of three.
3. His feedings are still not going well. The doc has put him on a couple of meds to help his digestive system get back on track. In the meantime he has gone from 1 cc of breastmilk per hour to 2 ccs per hour to 10 ccs every three hours to 8 ccs every three hours to 6 ccs every three hours, which is actually on hold right now because...
4. He is anemic and needs a blood transfusion. His feedings will resume sometime after the procedure.
5. He has reached the 5 pound milestone. Yesterday he weighed 5 lbs. 2.2 ounces.
6. His jaundice has gone so they removed the little Velcro tabs that were stuck to the side of his head so his baby sunglasses would stick while he was under the UV light.
7. Misc.: I have started taking Reglan for my milk supply issues, there is another medication out there I may try after this runs its course. I am now renting one of the "hospital grade" breast pumps. Looks like my milk prodcution just went "industrial." I smell like pancakes thanks to the herbs. (Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle make one's sweat and urine smell like maple syrup.)Still not pumping out gallons or anything but the supply is still there and for now it is keeping up with Gavin's demand.
Casey bought Gavin his first soccer ball. I am looking forward to the day when they can get out there and kick the ball around. Soccer is Casey's sport, he has played it since he was a wee tot.
