Lunch break

Blue is also my favorite color, imagine that!

BLUE

You give your love and friendship unconditionally. You enjoy long, thoughtful conversations rich in philosophy and spirituality. You are very loyal and intuitive.

Find out your color at QuizMeme.com!

I'm on my lunch break, working at my desk today. I have so much to catch up on after missing three days of work. BUT I took some time to catch up with my bloggers and found this fun little quiz.

I also wanted to share with you my new favorite candy bar. I first had it sometime last year. My coworker surprised me with one this afternoon as thoughtful birthday gesture. How friggin' awesome is that!??! If you love chocolate and nuts then you MUST, absolutely MUST, try a Moose Munch bar. Beware of the intense sugar high that will follow.

I have tons of Thanksgiving photos to sort through and post. What a crazy week. We are going to try and go pick out our Christmas tree tonight. I pulled out our small collection of Christmas decorations yesterday. It's rainy and cold here, perfect Christmas weather. How can you not get in the holiday spirit??

I've decided every year I will brave the post-Christmas maddness and shop for insanely discounted Christmas decorations. If I buy one or two things every year eventually my house will be a woodsy winter wonderland! I have also decided I am going to attempt to create my own tree topper, because nothing I find in the stores seems worth the cost, not to mention a lot of it just looks plain cheap or tacky. I can't bring myself to spend (waste) money on something cheap or tacky. Granted "cheap" and "tacky" are entirely subjective terms. I guess I'm a Christmas tree topper snob.

I'm also a nativity snob. It's no secret that our family is not particularly religious, despite my Baptist upbringing, but I feel that it is only right to educate our children about the orgins of Christmas if we choose to celebrate it. So the search for the perfect nativity set continues. I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

I saw the Willow Tree collection while making our usual roadtrip Cracker Barrel stop. (We listen to books on tape when driving long distances, totally makes the time FLY.)It's nice enough, and I could buy one piece every year until I have the whole thing.

BUT...I would really rather prefer something more like this, colorful, original and handcrafted:

I think stained glass would look lovely in the glow of candle or twinkle lights. Of course, finding original, hand-crafted works of art will be a little more expensive than if I just scurry over to my local Cracker Barrell or Hobby Lobby and buy something that has been mass produced. Decisions, decisions...

By the way - good for you for getting inspired with my Craft Show deal! I have been wanting to get out there, but have been hesitant. Just do it, I know you are very talented and will do well. Wishing you the best.
