Now that the birthday planning has come to an end I am hoping to get back on task with the other projects in our life. My goal this week(end) is to put that final layer of paint on the wedding art, once and for all and get our house back in order before Casey leaves for yet another trip to Boston, this time for three long weeks. Fortunately my partner in crime will be coming home on the weekends, so that is nice and will make the weeks not seem so long. I would also like to finish the second curtain panel for the office/guestroom and hopefully scrounge up some extra dollars to at least buy either some primer or texture for the walls. This room is going to drag on a bit longer than the master, I guess that's OK, because its the best we can do right now. We're still waiting on our tax return, which we'll use to do the floors and countertops in the kitchen. How great is that?
Spring break is next week, which doesn't really mean anything to me as I still work full-time and still have to come to campus everyday. It does mean that the semester is already half way over and soon I'll be spending all that classroom time out on the farm. I am really excited about that and am looking forward to documenting our progress. This week we had an opportunity to work with the marketing interns and shared our ideas for raising awareness about the market in general as well as various activities during the market hours that would hopefully draw more folks in. Recently, after one of our classes I came home inspired to perfect my caramelized onion, which I rarely take the time to do. One of the meals Casey and I enjoy preparing together is our homemade pizza. Would't caramelized onion make a great topping?!
Speaking of spring and getting outside more, at some point during the spring once the weather becomes more people friendly, Casey and I have to get out front and do some curb-appeal work on our house. This will entail more shutters, paint, some pressure washing and landscaping. Geez I hope we can get everything done in a timely manner. Getting our house on the market will be such a huge relief.
A note on productivity, I have definitely noticed a dip in my energy level post-steroids. I'm back to my normal type-A self. As an early and surprise anniversary gift our cousins Shannon and Kelly gave us an Alamos malbec bottle of wine. That was certainly very nice of them and now I am brainstorming a special meal to create so that Casey and I have something nice to pair it with. I have never tried a malbec. Perhaps as a nod to the wine's native Argentina I can make a yummy chimchurri beef dish. Maybe I can even include a side of caramelized onion! I would have liked to have explored Argentina a bit more during my time down south. Perhaps it can be a much anticipated anniversary celebration for Casey and I years from now when Gavin isn't interested in celebrating birthdays with his fuddy duddy parents.

Wow, you are a busy girl! And inspiring!
Can't wait to see pics of all your progress! :-)
Between you and me, I am so ready to NOT be a busy girl. I do see some light at the end of the tunnel, but that light is still at least 6 months away. *sigh*
Sorry you have to work next week! Bummer. Maybe it will be so dead you can have a day or two off.
What did you end up picking as far as countertops and cabinets go? I wish we would've done what my mom did and have our countertops repainted/sprayed. Cost her $600! Crazy huh? I know you guys are doing your research and will pick something practical but just wanted to throw that out there :) I had never heard of spraying countertops.
Don't forget before and after pics! Have a great weekend!
