On Fire...

Two down, one more to go! Yes, the Hunger Games series is that quick of a read. Just what I needed in leisure reading material these days. It's creative, a bit sappy at times, but what teen romance isn't? I am enjoying the post-modern apocalyptic themes and the Appalachian imagery of District 12. Does anyone who has read the book think District 13 is supposed to be the Oak Ridge, TN area or maybe Manhattan? Just curious. I also love all the descriptions of great food! Bakery crusty bread smeared with fresh goat cheese and blackberries, freshly shulled oysters with a spicey red sauce and more fresh baked bread?!?!? I mean come on, what is not to love. The more simple and less processed the ingredients the better! Yum. Now that I'm beginning the third book, Mockingjay, what's next??? Apparently the next "big thing" in a fiction series is Fifty Shades of Grey, according to some of my lady friends. From what I have been told, the themes and erotic nature sounds vaguely familiar to the 1980s classic Sleeping Beauty trilogy by A.N. Roquelaure (Anne Rice) - an interesting literary study in gender roles. I think once I get off this fiction kick and head back over into non-fiction, I'd like to start reading the presidential autobiographies, beginning with the most recent and working my way back.

I really need to find the time to start reading again. I used to really fly through books. In essence, I'm jealous! LOL! Read on! :)
