Camping!

This past weekend we went camping in the GSMNP. We did see the synchronous fireflies and it was magical, seriously. I may or may not have time to post more pics and comments later, but in the meantime here are a few of my favorite pics. In the first photo, Gavin had just received his very first headlamp and was super excited about it.

Tuckered out and about to go on a mid-afternoon hike.

He didn't stay tuckered out for long. This is Gavin enjoying himself out on the trail. We played in the river, climbed big rocks, and appreciated the great outdoors. Casey took this photo along with some awesome river shots I hope to post later.

A quick note about the synchronous fireflies: It is a truly unique experience and we highly recommend it for others. If you or anyone else is planning a Smoky Mtn. or Southern App AT adventure anytime soon, try and plan to be at 2,200-2,400 ft. during the first few weeks of June. You won't regret it!!

oh man; I bet seeing those fireflies was amazing. I can only imagine!

Love the pics of Gavin. Those rosey cheeks! I seriously just want to pinch them.
